| ADDICTION! |
It started quite by accident I never had the slightest clue That this whole web-surfing thing Would be so much fun to do! At first I was quite hesitant What did I know about computers? When people spoke of bytes & floppies? I felt like some intruder!! But my 3 kids encouraged me "C'mon, Mom....you're no quitter!" Even though when I was their age A mouse was still a pesky critter! And so I finally took the plunge Signed up for AOL And as they say, the rest is history I'm progressing very well!! My horizons have expanded My travels never end! The Worldwideweb's my playground On my browser I depend! I rush to check my email Reading each one with delight Clicking links & instant messaging Sometimes far into the night! Chat rooms, chat rooms everywhere! What conversations they afford! And then to my amazement I discovered "MESSAGE BOARDS!!" I joined so many right away It was hard to keep them straight! My son said, "You've bitten off too much" But what I need's a bigger plate!! The only problem I can see Since I first moved the mouse? Is that I never seem to have Time left to clean the house! There's a hamper in the bathroom Beneath that lower shelf... Haven't seen it lately, but I'm sure I put it there myself! |
| The sink's piled high with dishes And dust is everyplace Housework just cannot compete With traveling in cyberspace!! Haven't watched TV in weeks Or read a single book When I am on the Internet I seldom even stop to cook! My family feels abandoned now They never see me anymore... Every chance I get I rush To the den and shut the door! My hubby doesn't mind, though He simply has no reason! I won't hear a peep from him Till AFTER football season!! Then there may be a problem When he notices I am gone And that the bed beside him's empty Cause I've been surfing all night long! So then, I'll have to compromise And tend to every chore... Until I finally get to Paradise... Where I can SURF forevermore!! For Heaven must have computer access Plus a website beyond compare!!
