One segment of society That I've never understood Is those who don't believe in God; The atheists...if you would They deny the total concept Of heaven, sin or hell And as for stuff about salvation They dismiss all that, as well They poke fun at the Bible Ignore the word of God Assuming they'll never answer for The paths they choose to trod They laugh at those who kneel to pray Claiming it's a waste of time Saying, "No one's up there listening" That God's only in our minds! They ridicule the unexplained Because they do not care And when presented proof of miracles? They pretend that nothing's there... And arguments are worthless Against those who can't conceive The existence of God the Father Anger won't make them believe No, hostility's not the answer There's too much of that already What they need are good examples Of a faith that's strong and steady To show them how the love of God Has touched so many lives And how those who do without it? Don't live....they just survive So remember what they need the most Is sympathy and prayer Leave miracles to the Father Who can reach hearts anywhere Dusty Richardson c 1996 |
