BE PROUD!

Friends tell me I should never
Wear my religion on my sleeve
They say it's no one's business
What I choose to believe...
Now I'll admit the crucifix
That hangs around my neck
Has caused some squabbles in the past
But, oh well, what the heck?

I'm proud to be a Christian
And I do not care who knows!
If that bothers certain people
Well...that's the way life goes!
I try to live as Jesus would
After all,  He died for me...
Least I can do is spread the Word
Helping those who don't yet see!

But I don't race from day to day
Damning other folks to hell!
So why some feel so threatened
I'm sure I cannot tell...
I try not to be annoying
But I do stand on Heaven's side
So no, I won't get in your face
But neither will I run & hide!

I love the Lord with all my heart
If that upsets you, then I'm sorry!
But all I am and say and do
Is supposed to bring Him glory!
Christ Himself warned long ago
Saying, "If you cannot be bothered
To take a stand for me on Earth
You'll go without Me to My Father..."

I don't know about the rest of you
But for myself?   I guarantee
That when I face Almighty God
I want Jesus next to me!!!
