| CALLINGS God blesses all His children With some sort of special talent Each crafted individually Providing skill and balance Some are known as artists They make colors come alive Their creations help the rest of us To relax, refresh, revive Others have the gift of gab They can make folks feel at ease They're good at drawing people out They aim to soothe and please Still others excel at building things Out of glass or wood or stone They're the ones we look to To provide our hearths and homes And some are simply born to teach Their business is education Its' hard to find another group That matches their dedication And don't forget the healers' Those who battle for our health For in the long run that is worth Much more than any wealth And then there are musicians Who each play have special roles With sheet and voice and instrument They help lift up our souls Ministers, preachers and men of God Each interpret the Father's Word Spreading the good news of salvation To those who haven't heard And some are great with language Like this as yet unknown poet I have style, wit and flair... The world just doesn't know it! And that's ok for I'm not sure What part my poems will play Or what God has in store for me And He has the final say... In the meantime we can each Practice our talents tried and true Trust God… believing in the end That He'll show us what to do! dusty richardson 2001 |
