| COME ON IN |
In this chaotic, frightening era As we rush from day to day How many folks reserve some time Set aside to simply pray? It doesn't have to be an hour Just 5 minutes, maybe 10 A quiet spell of short respite Before the rat race starts again A special time to share with God Whatever is in your heart Ask His guidance and His blessings While your day has yet to start It needn't be a formal prayer Or one read from a book God will treasure every thought Each moment that you took Heartfelt conversation Between yourself and God above Will open up a window For Him to shower you with love He wants to hear your problems He knows exactly how you feel He's only waiting for the chance To show His love's for real! But so many of His children Wait until they're in a squeeze It takes tragedy or a crisis To get them on their knees And prayer to lots of people is "I should, I want, I need!!!" I wonder if they've ever said A prayer not based on greed A prayer that just says, "Thank-You" For everything You've done Thanks because I woke today To see the morning sun! So make daily prayer a habit Include God in your life He'll gladly share in all the joy And help you through the strife Then when your journey's over And you've survived each danger You'll stand at the Pearly Gates Knowing God is not a stranger! And when you see those golden halls That house Eternity deep within You'll see your Father at the door Saying, "Welcome....come on in!" |
