I won't ever understand When folks cause such a stir Wondering why the Lord allows All kinds of evil to occur! For years now, we've rejected Him Ignored His words and rules And then, as icing on the cake We banned Him from the schools! Not only did we turn our backs On His death and on His Name... A frightening, growing lot of us Deny he ever came! We ridiculed His teachings Took the Ten Commandments down Still, every Sunday...there we are Our hypocrisy knows no bounds! We treat God like a fairy tale If we think of Him at all... Unless, of course, we're in a jam With our backs against the wall! God bless the USA rings out From all states far and wide Well, don't look now, America But I submit....He's tried!! For 2000 years He's struggled Trying to make us see the light But even after all this time We still won't do what's right! Should He stay where He's not wanted? What can a Father do? When children act like spoiled brats Then brag about it, too! So why are we suprised to find That evil plays for keeps? We should have paid attention For what we've planted, we shall reap! Pornography and decadence Immorality breeds contempt Murder, drugs, teen suicides Nothing's sacred or exempt!!
