| JANUARY 19th, 2010 Guess what else I figured out how to do!! Erica wanted to email me a MPC something or other that had a recording of the first episode of the radio spot "The View from Dusty's Front Porch" right? Well, initially I told her not to bother because I never knew what to DO with those things! I probably couldn't even OPEN it, much less get it on the porch!! She was thinking that because so many folks were upset that they missed it on the radio, that I could put it on the Porch and keep like an archive of each segment and they could go there to click and hear whichever one they wanted! Sounded great, but.... Anyway, I can hardly believe it but I think I figured out how to do it!! Looks ok...and when I click on it? It works!! I probably should go next door to Mac's and try it from over there before I get all excited about something I think I did that I didn't really do!! Hahahaha! Anyway? Someone try it and let me know if it's working!! How exciting is all this, hey? Staytuned!! Dusty |

It works fine! GOOD JOB!! You sound just like I thought you would on the radio....what a comic!! I knew if you made me laugh on the porch and in emails you would do the same thing LIVE on the air!! | JANUARY 22nd, 2010 Elisa...I'll take the number with gratitude!! I never know when technology is gonna tie me in a knot!! See below for what I mean!! ...and Matthew? I haven't seen or talked to Clayton in years!! This was back in the 1980s...Not sure what he's doing today...He was on the sunny side of 80 when that story took place so for all I know? He may already be in Heaven. laughing his head off and keeping an eye on my progress down here....LOL!!! Know what I did yesterday? If you're reading this, then you already know! I gave the Front Porch a face-lift!! Someone ( who shall remain nameless unless they annoy me!! ) suggested gently that perhaps the Porch's title page was getting a bit too cluttered? "Y'know D...kinda like your kitchen?" HMMMPH!!! I lost no time informing her that my kitchen was NOT cluttered....it just had ...what was the word??... CHARACTER!!! That's it....my kitchen has character!! hahaha! But I had to admit that between all the links to all the pages and places, each in a different color, she did have a point. It was a bit of a challenge to find your way around! So I decided to put all the links on a separate page and while I was at it I took out all the links in the green boxes too!! Put them all in one place on the second page. Then my neighbor informed me that it was called a sitemap!! COOL ....who knew?? Back in my day, we would have called it a Table of Contents !! But whatever.... now all the links to different pages and sections and prayerwheels and letters are all in one place! Took me almost all day to do though....and by the time I finished, the front page of the porch looked pretty nekkid!! Sigh.... So I kept the Thought for the Day spot and the CHATBOX and added some graphics and some real Front Porch pictures! ...and yes I kept the chatter to a minimum! Well, a Dusty minimum anyway!!! I like it a lot!! Have to wait and see what the "regulars" say, though....LOL!! At least they can find things now!! Staytuned!! Dusty |

| LOVE the changes to the Porch!! You did a fabulous job....much easier to navigate and find stuff!! Are those really your porches? Very pretty...I like the one with the swing---it reminds me of my grandma's porch when I was little!! But I REALLY identify with the one at the bottom...that's your patio now, right? Thought I recognized it!!! You're so cool!! Keep up the good work lady!! Ellen Charlotte AWESOME JOB!!! Easy to get around and love the way you kept the "homey" feel to everything....that's what makes the Front Porch the Front Porch!! | FEBRUARY 16th, 2010 Well, glad that the new site map and other changes went over so well....everyone seems to like the new look!! And yes, I got my new "do" ....haven't changed the pic yet cause I can't seem to take one that i like...but I'm working on it! Those of you who are regular readers have no doubt heard all about my friend Lynn up in VT and what she and her hubby are going thru up there. My heart is aching for them...I wish I could DO something!! But here I sit...too far away to do anything but PRAY... I know that's a powerful thing, but I wish I was close enough to hug her y'know? Sigh......... She's an amazing woman who's always been there for me when I needed her. I hate that she has to go thru this on top of all the other challenges they're facing right now....gotta be a rhyme in this story somewhere....if my Health class teacher would let up on the homework / reading just a tad, I might actually have time to get some scribblin' done...but that doesn't seem too likely in the immediate future. | MARCH 27th,2010 Wow!! Guess I've been neglecting my lil blog here!! But you know how they say "be careful what u pray for?" Shheeeeeshhh!!!! I'm living proof!! The past 6 weeks have been my busiest ever!! I have the Porch here of course, and then the radio spot on 91.9 New Life, and now I've started volunteering down at the jail during the week in the Chaplain's office! Tuesday mornings, and all day Thursdays & Fridays. The city has said that the chaplain now has to put all the classes and programs they teach online in the computer if they want to continue ....up till now they've all been in her head!! Sigh........ And since I have my MCAA ( Microsoft specialist thingie ) I'm just the one to help her deal with all that!! Course, Monday's and Wednesdays I'm still in classes trying to get my degrees and certificates lined up!! On the 25th of March I took the exam and certified as an C.M..A.A. ( Certified Medical Administrative Assistant ) got a 93% Hurray!! TNT!!! Let's see what else has been going on... * Bernie's pages on the Porch here have taken on a life of their own.....he's up to page 6!!!!!!!!! He went back to the doctors yesterday...we won't have the results till Monday * Kat's wedding album, the Fairy Tale, is finally finished and up on the Porch....she loves it!! * Brenda J and I went out to lunch for her birthday!! * Had Shirley over for coffee one Saturday after we left the pods at the jail....we had a great time!! She's a hoot! We're going to her wedding in August!! * Got to know Anna Brickey from the jail ministry....she's a super lady too!~! Strong Christian....loves my stories!! She's good for my ego!! * Started and published a monthly newsletter for return ministries......everyone's tickled with that! * Investigating how to build them a website too...I found a site...just can't find time to sit down and teach it to myself! * Yikes...gotta run.....Gillian (new friend!) Is coming over at 1 and it's already after 10 am!! More soon I promise!! OH!!!!!!!!! Gotta tell y'all about the EASTER GATE!! Not MY idea...this one was straight from the BIG GUY!!!! I'm having my Me 'n God hour one morning last week and all of a sudden, I was thanking Him for all the success on the Porch? And he pops a question into my head asking," WHY IS IT THAT TWO WEEKS BEFORE EASTER THERE IS NOTHING ON YOUR PORCH ABOUT EASTER????????????(GULP!!!) "I'll get right on that one Lord!!" Needless to say......I didn't do any laundry THAT afternoon.....it took all day but now we have the EASTER GATE!! It's beautiful if I do say so myself...and we already have 7 or 8 souls saved !! I'll do it just like the Christmas Carol Corner....put the link up before the holiday and take it down after....but I'm thinking I should make a SALVATION SOMETHING to stay up all the time...whatcha think?
