Do you know a war is raging All around us every day Between Jesus and the devil For souls who've gone astray? The battle's not a new one It began at Heaven's gate Way back before creation When Satan's heart first filled with hate God Almighty cast him out And fromthat day to this? Stealing people from the Father Has been the devil's only wish And for a while he was winning Collecting millions to his cause Delighting when they turned to him Shunning God's every law Then one day 2000 years ago Fed up, God said, "No more!!" He sent His Son to build a bridge From earth to Heaven's door Jesus walked & taught & preached Among us till He died Showing us how we should live Drawing the faithful to HIs Side His painful death nailed on the cross High on Calvary's hill Flung Heaven's gate wide open If you believe? It's open still The forgiveness that He earned for us Is for all....not just for some He became the road to Paradise And He still is....the Only One But don't think Satan just gave up He hasn't and never will As long as there are souls at stake And hell has slots to fill He uses many different weapons Apathy, deceit, temptation... His tactics haven't changed a bit Since back at dawn's creation Battles are fought every day In this ancient tug-of-war for souls The evil one will not surrender God's defeat's his only goal So if you have accepted Jesus As your Savior and your Lord? Shout out!! Speak up!! For silence? Is something Christians can't afford! Show the world!! Show everyone That you stand on the Savior's side Make sure all who see you know That you bear His Name with pride! Step up in faith to speak for Him He'll show you what to say Spread His Word...save someone's soul Read your Bible, trust Him, PRAY!! Don't be a "closet" Christian Your heart belongs out on your sleeve Satan will not taste one victory If we all live what we believe! |
We must fight a daily battle To win the lost for Christ It's the very least that we can do After He paid such a price! He could have simply walked away Made another, less painful choice But instead, for us, He chose to die Show your gratitude...raise your voice!! Be willing to do battle Be it with prayer or pen or sword It's time we proclaim to the world That Jesus IS the risen Lord!! DUSTY SEPT 2008 |
