f you want to be a Christian Let Jesus show you how to live And the most important lesson You must learn is to forgive... Regardless of who hurts you Or how much pain they caused In your heart you must forgive them It's the greatest of God's laws! And it maybe the hardest thing You've ever had to do... But if you would follow Jesus? It's what He will ask of you! After all, the best example Of forgiveness ever shown? Was Jesus dying on that cross For our sins to atone! And I doubt while here on earth That anything done to you Will ever approach the agony That our sins put Jesus through! If He had the courage and the love To forgive those who tortured Him... Then surely deep inside ourselves We can forgive others any sin! Whether family, friend or foe When someone does you ill? You must forgive....no matter what If you love Christ you will! Never keep or hold a grudge For anger will destroy your soul Bitterness, spite and vengeance These are the Devil's role! They are things you must abandon Because you are a child of God! Leave all that behind you If you would walk the path He trod... So remember, do your best Forgive each and every slight For that is non-negotiable If you would see Heaven's light!
