| HOW LONG?? |
Ever wonder what God thinks Or how long He will wait? For us misguided, earthly fools To give up on greed and hate? In the first place, He created Our home...this planet Earth And all we've done, time and again Is underestimate its worth... He sent His own Son down to die And suffer in our place So that one day all His children Could meet their Father face-to face But look around....see gratitude? Do we, in truth, appreciate What He suffered to guarantee Our safety from a much worse fate? Since before the dawn of time He's begged for man's compliance And for His trouble He's received Only arrogance and defiance How long before He's had enough Before He's fed us with us all? Wonder what will happen then I think mankind would quickly fall On their knees before the Lord In terror, dread and fear Think it's just a fairy tale? Wake up....that time is near! We've had over two milleniums To rehearse and get it right But today, as throughout history All we do is fuss and fight! How long is He supposed to wait For us to act our age? How long before His mercy Will have hardened into rage? If we dare to take for granted God the Father's endless love We'll have no shelter when His judgement Thunders down from up above! Why take a chance? Don't gamble Your salvation is on the line... Kneel and beg forgiveness... You could be running out of time! D Richardson c 2002 |
