I believe I have a calling To try and reach for souls The ones who don't consider God Or think He plays no role! They're out there by the thousands Almost anywhere you look! Those who've never met the Lord Or even glanced into The Book! I'm certainly not a preacher I can't quote Scripture by the hour But I know Jesus died for me And my salvation's in His power! So for reasons that are His alone He has blest me with a gift... The words I write touch people's hearts Giving weary souls a lift! I don't think I'm a messenger I would not be that bold... But I was raised to trust in God So I do what I'm told! Topics, words and rhyming schemes Seem to flow 24 and 7 And in my heart, I do believe They're coming straight from Heaven! There's no other explanation At least none that I can find For poetry with such meaning To flow from my pen and mind! So for over 30 years I've scribbled My work's in print and on the net For what purpose? I may not know But God does...you can bet! And judging from my email I'm doing something right! That's no suprise...for trusting God Always leads us to His Light! My little rhymes and stories Strike universal human chords Leaving me as pleased as punch When folks turn to the Lord!! |
