When I say I am a Christian?
There’s no need to be afraid
I’m not into preaching much
That’s not the way I’m made

I do believe that Christ came down
To die for me on earth
And I’m amazed at just how much
He thought that I was worth!!

But I do not wear a halo
I’m sure there’s not one that would fit
I have no patience, none at all
I smoke and cannot quit…

When I get mad?  My language
Could sometimes make a sailor proud
I go to bars for karaoke
And quite often I get loud !!

All these faults and many more
Are mine I must confess
Instead of what a Christian ought to be?
I’m a total, sorry mess !!

So you won’t catch me pointing fingers
Or using righteous tones
The only thing I’m certain of?
Is that I’m never all alone…

My SAVIOR’s with me every day
Making sure I know just how
He suffered much to save me
And He won’t desert me now!!

It’s not for me to be a judge
Or think I’m better than another
The most important thing that Jesus taught
Is that we should love each other !

So I wil not get in your face
But neither will I hide…
Because I know Who my Savior is
And I know why He died!!

So I’ll continue every day
Trying to live so others see
The light and love of Jesus Christ
Every time they look at me !!

Cause ‘Christian’ doesn’t mean I’m better
Just determined and maybe driven?
For those of us who follow HIM?
Are not perfect…..just forgiven !!
