It always makes me sad to think Of folks who haven't learned To believe in God...they go through life Thinking happiness must be earned! They move along from day to day Without a word of prayer How desolate their world must be Without the Father's care! Yet I know that millions Of confused and tortured souls Go for years ignoring God Chasing only earthly goals! And these same adults, at some point Were young kids who never heard About the price that Jesus paid Or one syllable of His word! Today's kids are searching everywhere For the feeling that they belong But without guidance, they're at the mercy Of those who'd steer them wrong! Gangster rappers, drugs galore Body piercings, purple hair.... They're seeking an identity But they will not find it there! And some parents are no help at all They cannot act as guides As alcoholics popping pills... They've already chosen sides! And education's not the answer For these days, in our schools To even mention the name of God Is breaking several rules! An entire generation Is floundering, mostly lost On the verge of losing Paradise Though Christ has paid the cost! So if you know a youngster Who has never met the Lord? Be the one to do the honors For apathy they can't afford! Let them know about the Savior Who's compassionate sacrifice Bought their entry into Heaven Share His words and His advice! Introduce them to the Bible Teach them how to kneel and pray Get in their face....be willing To show them a better way! And if, out of every 10 you reach Even 2 take your words to heart? Those 2 may reach a dozen more And you'll have made a start! Then when you face the Father Where those before you stood? You can answer proudly, "Lord? I saved as many as I could!" |
