A lot of people wonder why God allows such tragedy Why won't He save the innocent Or make life trouble-free? I used to wonder why myself And once, as a little child Someone died and I asked Grandma Who just smiled a gentle smile: "Come sit with me and I will try My very best to explain Why every soul needs teardrops Just like a garden needs the rain! We each are born with the load of sin Weighing us down deep inside We are unable to escape it There is simply nowhere to hide And even though Jesus paid for our sins When He gave His life on the cross? We're only human and sin's part of life Still causing most pain and much loss! Sin is what keeps us anchored Chained down here on this earth Though we spend entire lives trying For we know what Heaven is worth And our Father in all of His wisdom Knew that we must have a way For that awful weight we carried inside To somehow be melted away That's why whenever sorrow arrives And leaves us feeling hurt or just blue Our eyes fill up and tears spill out Like they almost always do! For every tear drop that we cry Throughout all of our lives Is lessening that terrible burden So that one day, our souls will fly! Though life contains both joy and pain God deserves every bit of our trust Live yours believing without anrdoubt That He knows what's best for us! Because every time some sadness Causes us to shed bitter tears? Our souls just become that much lighter Down throughout all of the years Suffering can only deepen our faith So thank-God for every tear As well as all of the happiness He showers you with every year! For when you have cried an ocean And your soul is as light as the air? Then you'll be free to float up on the breeze To the Father who waits for us there! |
