THE BAR..PAGE 1...I was told this story by the
husband of a friend of mine.   It took place in a bar in
Oklahoma City a year or two ago!   If you believe?  It'll make
you smile....if you don't?  It'll make you think!!   Enjoy.....D

Lots of people seem convinced
That God is unconcerned
About what happens here on earth
But they have much to learn
God's more than just a bible verse
He's at the heart of everything
He cares too much about His children
To wait quietly in the wings..

Here's a story I was told
Not very long ago
That shows how He's always working
To make things turn out just so!

The Martini on a Thursday night
Didn't boast a weekend crowd
But the bar's house draft was cold
And the jukebox was always loud
Jack sat on a barstool
He'd been drinking there for hours
He'd guzzle down a beer or two
Then drain a whiskey sour

By 4 o'clock he was hammered
There was little if any doubt
And still he sat, content to drink
Until they put him out.
The other stools weren't occupied
He was at the bar alone
Lost in thought and alcohol
He was clearly 'in the zone'!

Realizing his glass was empty
He'd signaled for another drink
When the door behind him opened up
And mirrored sunshine made him blink
The newcomer was a young marine
Who stepped in and looked around
Then made a beeline for the bar
And took a stool without a sound

"OK, soldier..what'll it be?"
The bartender asked with cheer.
"Whatever it is.it's on the house
We'll not take your money here!"
Jack nodded his approval
The young man said, "Beer, I guess"
When the frosted glass was set before
him
He sighed and sipped with zest.

Jack nudged his young companion
"Shipping out or coming back?"
The other said, "I just rotated out
After twelve months in Iraq ."
Jack nodded again and then remarked
"You've done your duty then.
Now you can start where you left off
Pick your life up once again!"
