All men of Earth are sinners
Right down to our last breath
Even though we know the Bible says
The wages of sin are death!
God sighed sadly, saying,
"And I love each one so..."
Jesus said, "Father, they needn't die,
Let Me pay the debt they owe.."
Then He came to walk among us
So mankind would live and learn
He was crucified for all our sins
And He promised He'd return
Now two thousand years have passed
Some say He never could...
But those of faith know that He will
Simply 'cause He said He would
And everyone wonders exactly how
The Lord's return will be...
Majestically floating on silver clouds
Flanked by angels for all to see?
Another question asked is where
A cathedral in the Holy Land?
Or near a street corner barrel fire,
Where a beggar warms his hands?
And when will His return take place?
Today's world's so full of hate
That judging by why the Bible says
We shouldn't have long to wait...
And who will He choose to be this time?
Somebody we recognize?
A talented preacher?  A diplomat?
Someone worldly and very wise?
Or will He choose a humbler face?
We still have lots of those...
He could return as a homeless man
With torn and tattered clothes...
A junkie?  Cop?  A minister?
A teacher or an attorney?
He has a world of roles to choose from
For His second earthly journey!
But who or how or where or when
The Lord plans His arrival
You can count on this one thing
It affects your soul's survival!
So if you feel you're unprepared
Ask God where you should start...
He's been awaiting an invitation
To reach down and touch your heart!
And to those who still are not convinced
I hope they're not afraid to die...
Jesus taught and suffered and rose again,
But what He didn't do is LIE...
He clearly said He would return
That's why we're waiting still
We believe that He'll be back
Simply cause He said He will!!
