THE ROAD
THE ROAD

This earthly life's a journey
That each one of us must take
Every path is different
So are the choices that we make
Not all roads lead to Heaven
And not all survive the trip..
Some will try their luck at detours
Trying to overcome or skip

The struggles found along the way
Of the rocky,  well-beaten trail
Left behind for us to follow
By those now old and frail...
"I'll find a better, faster way
Than those who went before"
That's what they think, but disappointment
Is all they have in store!

There is an easier, smoother road
That runs parallel to the first
But those who choose to follow it
End up in trouble, at it's worst!
The rocky trail may seem at times
To be dangerous, dark and long
But let the Light of Jesus guide you
And in the end you can't go wrong!

Don't fall victim to the shortcuts
Or signs you don't recognize...
Heaven needs no billboard
But satan HAS to advertize!!
So keep your eyes upon The One
Who promised:  "I am the Way..."
Believe and trust in Him alone
Then you won't go astray...

For Jesus will not abandon you
When life has drained your cup
Reach out your hand and He'll be there
To help you get back up...
And though our journeys all are different
One fact is always true
The Will of God won't ever lead
Where His Grace will not sustain you!!
