| TODAY If I could rent a billboard That everyone could see What message would I like to send To the whole wide world from me? I've given that a lot of thought Over endless coffee cups... And I think most folks need a sign That will finally wake 'em up!! So my board would simply say, In colors bold yet pleasant... "Today's a gift from God to you That's why it's called "the present!" Don't waste time on yesterdays Explaining how much you regret it That was then, folks...this is NOW! It's over.....just forget it! Then attention always turns To the details of tomorrow But counting on what has yet to be Can sometimes lead to sorrow! What about the day you're in? This minute!! Here and now! Today is all we're guaranteed And we overlook it anyhow! Yesterday is history Tomorrow's not yet here... So what I'm getting at by now Should be rather clear!
