Did you watch TV today? Have you heard the awful news?? Thousands have suddenly vanished! The anchors all have different views... It certainly wasn't illness Folks just seemed to disappear! Without a hint or word of warning As the world holds it's breath in fear! Pilots, doctors, housewives Even teenagers at the malls! Teachers, cops, so many children! What could have happened to them all?? And it's not just in America This mystery spans the world! There are reports from every nation As the shocking news unfurls!! This phenomenon makes no sense Families torn apart...but how?? From every creed & color, age & sex Some are among the missing now! There's been no attack by terrorists No storm worth any mention... But among those gone, experts cannot Find a common denomination! Panic and looting in every city Cars abandoned on Interstates... Surgeons, waitresses, diner guests Empty tables...half-eaten plates! Frightened mobs of desperate people Roaming frantically as they search For loved ones among the missing While still others flock to church! Then some newsman says he has a scoop Though his bosses fear only libel... The anchor says "This was the RAPTURE! Like God predicted in the Bible!!!" He stares wildly into the cameras Speaking to those who watch from home... "It's all there in Revelations!!! Christ has returned to claim His own! Pandemonium in the newsroom As they rush to station break But with their producer among the missing No one's sure which path to take! But the newsman's grim pronouncement Spreads on the Internet like lightning... Millions turn to Revelations And what they read is frightening!! Almost everyone can acknowledge That those vanished did believe In Jesus' promise of Salvation That those who trusted Him would receive And what now...that this unthinkable Prediction has been fulfilled? What about those of us who remain? Are we ready to do God's will? Do we remember lessons those we loved Tried so desperately to teach us? Though they faced rejection as we ridiculed Their every attempt to reach us? Now, it's far too late, we realize... To admit that we were wrong! As hindsight shows we should have listened To those whose faith was strong! |
Quite a horrible scenario isn't it? Whether book, newscast or rhyme... But I beg you: Don't ignore it!! We're fast running out of time When the days of Tribulation come There won't be fanfare or preamble... It starts suddenly with "The Rapture!" Are you really prepared to gamble? So many predictions the Bible makes Have already been proven true Don't turn your back on a final warning God is reaching out to you!! He loves you more than words can say He caused His only Son's blood to flow As He died in pain on a wooden cross To pay the debt YOU owe!! So please don't ignore Him once again Without a backwards glance.... Will it happen tomorrow? Perhaps tonight? Can you even take the chance? Don't hesitate one more second Kneel to Him Who paid the price! Beg His mercy....accept His gift And come share in Eternal Life!! Dusty Richardson |
