You say that you believe in God
Claim you know how and always pray
But when you’re asked what you believe
What is it that you say?

Have you asked Him on your knees
To help you in the past?
But when listing your priorities
Does He always end up last?

It’s not enough to worship him
In privacy on your knees
Or once a week on Sundays
In church for all to see

If you believe He died for you
Then praise His Name out loud!
Don’t be afraid to claim His love
Because you’re in a crowd!!

Everyone who meets you
Should know you love the Lord
To leave the world with any doubt
Is a risk you can’t afford!!

Jesus cared enough to die for you
He paid the debt you owe
The very least that we can do
Is be proud and let it show!!

How many chances have there been
That we have just let slide
To tell another about Jesus
How He suffered so then died?

Could our words have made a difference?
Shown someone else the way to go?
If the choice we made was silence, well
Then we will never know !!

Christ said to spread the Gospel
Not keep it under wraps!
Are we afraid of being teased?
Of controversy or causing flaps?

Jesus did a lot of that
While He was here on earth!
What we do now will prove to Him
How much His sacrifice was worth!

Don’t keep your faith all covered up
Let it shine with each new day
You’ll never know how many souls
Are saved by what you do and say!

But the Father up in heaven
Always has it written out
Each chance used or wasted
Is recorded….have no doubt!

And when each life is examined
Most of us will face close calls!
When asked how often did you speak for Him?
What if the answer is “Not at all?”

Not one of us is perfect
We’ve all done things we’d rather hide
But when it’s my turn I hope to say
“Lord, I did my best….I tried!!”

So if you spend your life denying Him
Fearing ridicule or shame?
Don’t be surprised if on that day
He doesn’t recognize YOUR name!!
