Long before the age of man
Had yet to even come
Outside the gates of Heaven
A battle fierce was first begun
God the Father ruled on high
Save for the angels, all alone
When the one they knew as Lucifer
Began to covet the Master's throne
Greed sprang up within his heart
It's poison filled his mind...
Causing him to hate the Lord
Leaving loyalty far behind
He started to speak of many things
That until then were never heard
He ranted on against the Father
And openly defied His word!
The other angels stood in shock
At this bold and deadly vice
There had never been dissension
In that Heavenly paradise...
Then the angel they called Gabriel
Who stood both proud and strong
Stepped forward to face the evil one,
Saying "Repent, for you are wrong!
God the Father loves us all
We were created in His Name
For the envy dwelling in your heart
You should be filled with shame!"
But Lucifer was consumed with hate
For this blessed, righteous one
He said, "Let's settle this here and now
For by nightfall, I'll have won!"
And so the battle thus began
By Heaven's golden door
And as the dusk commenced to fall
Good pinned evil to the floor....
Then a deep voice came from everywhere
Saying, "I rule from here above
All I ask of My creations
Is their honor, respect and love
For I am God the Father
I love those who do believe
But Lucifer all that you have done
Is envy and deceive.."

Then thunder rolled and lightning flashed
As God said, "Gabriel...cast him out!
And with him any others
In whose minds he's planted doubt!"
Gabriel did as God commanded
And when Lucifer was forced outside
The angel said, "Beg His mercy...
And He may yet forgive your pride!"
But the devil laughed at Gabriel
Saying, "Never fear, my friend...
What we started must be finished
And we will meet again!"
So the evil one would not be swayed
From his awful, jealous path
He shook his fist against the Lord
And again incurred His wrath...
"Begone you Satan, from My gate
Don't cringe at Heaven's door...
I hereby banish you from paradise
You'll rule in Hell forevermore..."
Then Lucifer swore an angry vow
And took himself away
"Someday I will know revenge
And have the final say!"
So Paradise was divided
On that day now lost in time
Though some I'm sure will disagree
With the details of this rhyme...
But we of the present have a choice
And a decision to make as well...
Do we proudly stand with Gabriel?
Or follow Lucifer into Hell?
